POLICE are appealing to identify three people following an altercation in Warrington town centre after the Euro football final.

The altercation took place on Bridge Street at approximately 4.50am on Monday, July 15 – hours after the European Championships 2024 final.

England took on Spain in the final in Berlin that Sunday night, with millions watching in pubs and bars across the country as the Three Lions fell to a late 2-1 loss.

During the Warrington altercation, a 26-year-old man was assaulted by three unknown men, suffering minor injuries.

Officers have now released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

One is described as being around 6’ tall, white, bald and of a thin build, and he was wearing a blue t-shirt, black trousers and black shoes.

The second man is described as being around 5’ 8” tall, white, having ginger hair and facial hair, of a medium build, and he was wearing a black cap, black t-shirt, black trousers and black shoes.

The third man is described as being around 6’ tall, white and of a large build, and he was wearing a white England football shirt, blue trousers and black trainers with white laces.

PC Jake Rigby said: “Enquiries have been ongoing since this incident took place, and we have now released images of three men we would like to speak to.

“We want to establish exactly what took place during the incident, and we believe these individuals hold vital information.

“If you recognise the identity of any of the men pictured, please get in touch with us.

“I would also appeal directly to the men pictured to contact us.

“You can also get in touch if you have any other information which may aid our enquiries.”
