After suffering months of abuse over the missing persons case, Roy decided that it was time to wave goodbye to Weatherfield for a bit.
While saying goodbye to pal Carla, she decided that she wanted to go with him while he visited his ex Cathy in Scarborough.
After announcing that she would be leaving for a bit, some of her shady employees saw an opportunity.
In recent Coronation Street scenes, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) uncovered a scam that Beth Tinker (Lisa George) was taking part in.

Betsy caught Beth sewing designer labels onto cheap t-shirts and warned her that if she didn't let her in on the business, she would tell Carla everything. Beth agreed to the demands and the pair became partners.
Carla's exit provided the perfect opportunity for them to grow this illegal business.
As soon as she was gone, the pair agreed to ramp up production in order to earn more money.
Coronation Street continues every week on ITV1 and ITVX.
