A PLAYGROUND in Culcheth that used to have rotting roundabouts and rusty seesaws has now been deemed one of the most popular attractions in the village.
Culcheth Village play area, on Common Lane, received an investment in the region of £200,000 from Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council to revitalise it.
“We know how important high quality play facilities are in our communities, so we’re delighted to be investing in the Village Green play area, which is such a popular place for local families,” Cllr Keith Bland, chair of the Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council last year.
The play area, which in the 1980s had a concrete surface and rusty seesaws, received a complete makeover and children can now enjoy new safety surfaces, swings, slides and a zip wire.
“It is wonderful. My children go to school away from here and they love to play here first,” said one visitor to the park.
