THERE were 191 babies born under Warrington and Halton Hospital Teaching Hospitals last month.

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust collates all the baby-related data every month detailing how many babies are born – boys and girls – whether there are any sets of twins or triplets and how babies are delivered.

There are monthly stats for the lightest baby and the heaviest baby and which is the busiest day of each month for new arrivals.

Some 191 new arrivals were born at Warrington Hospital or at home in the sixth month of 2024 – 98 boys and 93 girls – and three set of twins.

The lightest baby born in May weighed 4lb 6oz (1,990g) and the heaviest baby topped the scales at 9lb 15oz (4,515g).

The busiest day for babies being born last month was June 4 when 15 babies made an appearance.

Four babies were born in the Nest – the midwifery-led unit – together with 33 elective Caesarean sections and 49 unplanned Caesarean sections.

There were 105 vaginal births and 22 assisted deliveries and some 91 babies were induced.

Five babies were born at home and there were four water births and 78 per cent of babies were breast fed.
