BAILIFFS are to be instructed to remove traveller caravans from the car park of a Warrington business.

This is according to an unauthorised encampment log for Cheshire and Warrington operated by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Four encampments are showing on the log, having been updated by the Cheshire and Warrington Traveller Team states today, Tuesday.

The latest incursion is on the car park of B&Q Warrington, off Delph Lane in Winwick.

Six caravans and associated towing vehicles pitched up on the privately-owned sire today, with bailiffs to be instructed to ensure the car park is vacated.

This is the second unauthorised encampment at B&Q Warrington in recent weeks.

A court order is also being sought to remove 10 caravans and towing vehicles that set up camp on land at Silver Lane in Risley last Wednesday.

The council-owned land is becoming something of an unauthorised encampment hotspot, having experienced similar incursions over recent years.

The log states that the council is awaiting a court order for the group to vacate the site.

Three caravans and towing vehicles set up camp on Culcheth Village Green, off Kirkby Road, on Saturday.

A resident stated that a post was removed at the far end of the green to gain access, with the council awaiting confirmation of land ownership.

Moreover, a fourth unauthorised encampment was reported on privately-owned land on Longbarn Boulevard, close to the M62 near Birchwood.

That particular group arrived on Sunday, consisting of five caravans and towing vehicles, with a further update awaited.
