GREAT SANKEY students took part in a challenge packaging thousands of meals in the space of two hours to feed the hungry.

Barrow Hall College were joined by Warrington Rotary Club whose current project is working with Feed The Hungry UK to provide a million meals to trusted partners in Zimbabwe and Somaliland.

The year 12 students experienced a talk in the lecture theatre where they found out more about the project’s aims.

And then 50 students took park in the two-hour challenge, packaging 5000 meals for the cause.

A spokesperson for the college said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed being involved and look forward to working with the organisation in the future.”
