SEVERAL ‘funny’ and ‘affectionate’ cats are seeking new homes, including a father and son that were found on the motorway.

Safe Cats is a non-profit rescue centre in Warrington that is run by volunteers and tries to save as many pets as possible.

However, several of the cuddly rescues have been with the centre and not received any interest from people hoping to adopt.

To help with this, Safe Cats has launched an appeal to help find loving homes for those in their care.

Father and son, Rocky and Larry, arrived at Safe Cats last year after they were found living at a service station on the motorway.

“We think they would make great lap cats as they do love attention,” said Karen Campbell, who volunteers at Safe Cats.

“They are very funny together and bounce off each other.”

Rocky, who is around four years old, and Larry, who is estimated to be three, would be more suited to older children and adults.

Also at Safe Cats is three-year-old Berti, who was found covered in tractor oil last year after he has been sleeping in a farmer’s barn.

“Nobody has wanted to visit Bertie with a view to adopting him,” said Karen.

“As with many of our cats, Bertie is overlooked and has spent too long in rescue.”

Aptly named Felix, who is three, is also looking after by Safe Cats, and is known to tap people to get their attention in the hopes of some affection.

Sisters Willow and Misty have never had a home of their own together and are looking for one together.

“They are both affectionate, but as of yet don’t like being picked up,” said Karen.

“Willow is more chatty than Misty and they both love their food.

“As with all of our cats, they are fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea and wormed, sprayed and neutered and come with four weeks insurance.”
