A WOMAN from Great Sankey has sold more than 45,000 cards for her independent business that ‘kept her afloat’.

Jenny Fozard, who is from Great Sankey, is an independent seller under the name Presents Felt, on an online card marketplace called Thortful.

She started designing cards in 2017 while her dad was ill, spending time sat by his side and sketching and designing in waiting rooms.

“I always maintain that this kept me afloat during what was an incredibly painful time,” said Jenny.

The 50-year-old then turned her creative hobby into a business, selling her cards independently and now has sold 48,000 cards.

“Creating for Thortful over the last few years has been utterly brilliant,” she said.

“I love daydreaming about card designs and the fact I can create them at my own pace and from anywhere – even sitting in the great outdoors.”

Jenny’s makes Valentines Day cards, birthday cards and sympathy cards, with unique illustrations.

“We’ve paid out £11.7 million in royalties to our amazing creators to date and look forward to supporting more independent creators moving forward,” said a spokesperson for Thortful.

“It’s amazing to see that people can make a living out of a talent and hobby that brings them joy.”
