THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to visit year’s Stockton Heath Festival.
And despite weather forecasts of torrential rain and thunderstorms, the sun shone down on the crowds of people from July 4 to July 7.
More than 40 events took place at venues in and around the village, including ones covering art, culture and heritage.
And this year, there were activities and entertainment on offer including a rock night, a family heritage trail and drawing workshops.
The popular Art Exhibition also took place which was hosted by Rev’d Michael and St Thomas’ Church.
The overall winner was John Spanton for ‘The Ridgeway, Frodsham’, and the runner up was Eddie Platt for ‘Waterfall’.
Highly commended were Lemon Studio ceramics of Stockton Heath, ‘Bottles’ by Jacqueline Starkey, and ‘Not all Black and White’ by Ruth Carter.
Judges said this year’s quality was ‘particularly high’ with many ‘exceptional’ pieces of work which was reflected in the number of pieces sold at the exhibition.
A spokesperson for the event said: “The Stockton Heath Festival organisers would like to thank local businesses, sponsors and supporters, and volunteers for contributing to the festival’s success.”
