WHETHER it’s cats or dogs, fish or birds, or even snakes and bearded dragons, we love our pets.
Four-legged friends are like members of the family.
But who do you call when your dog needs walking while you’re at work?
Which cat-sitters come to the rescue when you go on your summer holiday?
Is there a veterinary surgery that goes above and beyond to care for your pets?
We have started our next Best of 2024 search to find Warrington’s Best for Pets – whether it’s dog groomers, cat carers or medical professionals – and we wanted to give thanks to those people who look after our pets.
In our Best of 2024 campaign, we’ve given out 12 awards in Warrington in a whole host of categories.
The shortlist for the town’s Best for Kids was revealed yesterday, Thursday.
Vote for Warrington's Best for Kids 2024
This week, it’s pets and as a nation of animal lovers we know it will be no easy feat to choose a winner, which is why we’ll be handing over the final decision to those who know best – our readers.
HOW IT WORKS:
Each Friday morning we will reveal new categories via our social media pages and ask you who is the best. Nominations will then close each Monday morning at 12pm.
Every Thursday we will publish a shortlist of finalists with voting officially opening.
You will be able to vote in one of three ways:
- By commenting under the relevant post on our Warrington Guardian Facebook or X (Twitter) pages = 1 vote
- By entering via the online article on our Warrington Guardian website = 2 votes
- By entering via our Warrington Guardian newspaper = 5 votes
The following Wednesday evening we will announce the winner of that category on social media.
Usual Newsquest competition rules apply.

So, get in touch with your Best for Pets nominations and tell us who is amazing enough to be one of our finalists.

Alternatively, you can email your nomination, telling us the name of the person taking good care of your pets, where they are based and why they deserve to be shortlisted, to heidi.summerfield@newsquest.co.uk
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our website and our social media each Friday morning, when we will launch a new Best of 2024 search and then every Thursday to vote for your favourite from our shortlist.
