AERIAL photos have shown a thorough clean-up operation undertaken after a large festival.

Around 100 caravans descended on a field in Winwick, close to junction 22 of the M6, on Thursday.

Permission was granted by the landowner for the event off Winwick Lane, with an event spokesman confirming that the site would be left clean and empty by Tuesday.

Aerial photos have been released by organisers showing the thorough tidy-up following the festival, which went ahead without issues.

Speaking before the event, they said: “The event is organised by the Lights in Life missions.

“We are an evangelical Christian group that ministers among the gypsies and travellers in the UK and around the world, including France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Hungary and America just to name a few.

“We have hired this field from the farmer to have three meetings a day at 3pm, 6pm and 9pm, and worship services under the large marquee.

“We have kid’s meetings and evangelical outreach is around the area.

“We have supplied toilets, security and waste management, and the field will be left empty and cleaned by Tuesday at the latest.”
