A PERSON has been taken to hospital following a house fire.

Two fire engines from Warrington and Penketh fire stations rushed to Cobden Street in Orford yesterday afternoon, Friday.

Paramedics from North West Ambulance Service also attended the incident at around 1pm.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire in the kitchen of the property.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause is believed to have been accidental.

“One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation by fire crews and taken to hospital by paramedics.”
