THE swimming pool at a council-run leisure centre will remain closed for the moment, it has been confirmed.
The pool at Broomfields Leisure Centre in Appleton has been closed since the start of the month.
Now users have been told the problem will 'take some time to resolve' due to a new part having to be made.
Children's swimming lessons, run by LiveWire, are being moved to other pools across the town from Monday while the pool is being fixed.
A council spokesman said: “We are continuing work to fix the Broomfields Leisure Centre swimming pool as quickly as possible.
“However, given the nature of the fault, we estimate that it will take some time to resolve.
“This is due to the pool requiring a new part, which is not readily available, and which therefore needs to be specifically manufactured for us.
“We are working to agree a timetable with our contractors for the repairs to be done, to reopen the pool as soon as possible.”
