POLICE have confirmed they have received a report of a suspicious incident involving a stranger appearing to take a photo of a child.
The incident occurred yesterday, Wednesday, on the path between Chapelford Primary School and Chapelford Medical Centre.
At around 8am, it was reported that a lone man, described as ‘eastern European looking’ with dark hair and wearing dark clothing, appeared to take a photo of an eight-year-old boy.
A second incident was reported as being suspicious in the west Warrington area that same day, however enquiries have concluded that it was legitimate and no cause for concern.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 8.19am on Wednesday, July 10, police were made aware of a suspicious incident near to Chapelford Primary School.
“The caller reported that at 8am on July 10, their eight-year-old child was riding to school when he was stopped by an unknown man who appeared to take a photo of him.

“Then at 2.43pm on Wednesday, July 10, police were called to reports of a suspicious incident at Whittle Brook Park, Warrington.
“The caller reported that a 16-year-old girl had been walking in the park when an unknown man came out from the bushes and appeared to follow the teenager.
“Police attended the scene and located the man.
“Officers were subsequently able to establish that the man was in the area for a legitimate reason and the incident was not suspicious. The victim has been updated.”
