THE family of a woman, 37, who deteriorated suddenly at Warrington Hospital have raised care concerns, an inquest heard.

An inquest was opened into the death of Jade Ellis, of Townfield Lane, Winwick, at Cheshire Coroners Court on Wednesday.

Ms Ellis sadly died on June 25 after being admitted to Warrington Hospital only four days prior on June 21 with leg cellulitis.

It was heard that the 37-year-old suddenly deteriorated in her condition on June 23 when she collapsed.

She continued to deteriorate and was pronounced dead on June 25 with her identification confirmed by a staff nurse at the hospital.

The reason for an inquest is due to her family having raised ‘care concerns’ at another hospital.

Concluding the hearing, area coroner of Cheshire, Jacqueline Devonish said: “I am going to formally open an inquest and adjourn it to April 14.”

A case review will be carried out prior to the inquest on September 9.
