A SUSPECT has been named following an incident which saw armed police attend.

Cheshire Police has confirmed that armed officers descended on McKee Avenue in Orford at around 6pm on Sunday.

A man has since been charged with affray, assault, criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He is due to appear in court to face the charge today, the force says.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “A man has been charged in relation to a number of offences in the Orford area of Warrington.

“Adam Clare, aged 31 and of Kentmere Place, Orford, Warrington, has been charged with affray, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

“He has been remanded to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 9.

“The charges relate to reports of an incident in McKee Avenue, Orford, at around 6pm on Sunday, July 7.”
