A SUSPECT has been charged with possessing a knife in a bingo hall in Warrington.

He also faces an allegation of causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to gambling machines in the venue.

It comes following a reported incident on Tuesday, June 11, at Buzz Bingo, located at Cockhedge Centre in Warrington town centre.

Constantin Lupo, of Cobden Street in Orford, has since been charged in connection with the incident.

The 36-year-old faces charges of possessing a knife in a public place, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.

The weapon charge alleges that Lupo, on June 11 at Buzz Bingo Warrington, had with him a folding pocket knife exceeding three inches in length without good reason or lawful authority.

It is also alleged that he assaulted a man on that day thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.

The final allegation is that, on June 11 at Buzz Bingo Warrington, he damaged five gambling machines to the value of £8,734.08 belonging to Buzz Bingo.

The allegation is that he intended to destroy or damage them without lawful excuse or was reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

Lupo is due to make a first appearance in relation to the allegations before Warrington Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday.
