The school honours its motto - “to live, to love, to learn” - and “encourages children to succeed and thrive every day”.

Staff, students and parents form a school community and everyone is involved in the children’s future.

This is evident through the variety of learning with children enjoying sports week, musical theatre, museum trips, outdoor adventures and swimming.

One nomination said: “We absolutely adore this school - the staff, the morals, the mutual respect and most importantly the fact our children are extremely happy and feel safe.

“No one is more deserving of this award than Sacred Heart.”

Another nomination said: “Sacred Heart recently received an Ofsted grading of Outstanding and we can honestly say that this came as no surprise.

“This was thoroughly deserved for all the hard work and dedication the staff plough into the school and the children every day.”

One parent said: “We are always made to feel so welcome in school and every single member of staff goes out of their way, with a huge smile or funny anecdote.”

Every member of the Sacred Heart family “goes above and beyond in every aspect of school life”.

Head teacher Colleen Everett said: “It is an absolute honour and a privilege to accept the Warrington Guardian School of the Year 2024 on behalf of the children, staff, governors, parents and whole Sacred Heart community.

“I would like to give heartfelt thanks to those who went out of their way to nominate us - it really does mean the world.

“Ofsted recently said that our children are the “pillars of our community”.

“Our children are at the centre of everything we do and it is just fantastic that this has been recognised in such a wonderful way.

“I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of the staff who work so hard to ensure that our children are given memorable and happy experiences with the very best standard of education.

“However, it has to be said that our children make it so very easy and make us so proud every day.

“This is the perfect end to what has been a very successful year for Sacred Heart – being awarded Outstanding by Ofsted in March followed by the Warrington Guardian School of the Year 2024 – who could possibly ask for more?”
