RAIN failed to dampen spirits as Croft Carnival’s colourful parade meandered through the village today.
This year’s event had an Olympics theme.
Children dressed as athletes waved flags and cheered from decorated floats.
Amid flags, medals and trophies, there was a lively atmosphere as youngsters celebrated victory on the podium.
Frankie Brady was crowned Carnival Queen alongside Chloe Hill as Princess and Martha Daley as Rosebud, accompanied by their retinues.
Stalls offered a large variety of items on the village playing field.
A falconry display, dance, music, children’s entertainer and rides were just some of the many attractions.
Lots of fun-filled activities kept everyone entertained.
The carnival finished with a world-famous egg throwing competition.
Prizes were awarded for the best scarecrows, best dressed streets and best fancy dress.
A big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the day such a success.
Volunteers spent months planning and organising the event and putting together the carnival programme.
