A SERIES of road closures have been announced for the Great Sankey area.

Warrington Borough Council has issued a road closure notice as per the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The temporary prohibition of driving, clearway and suspension order will come into effect from August 5.

It is expected to last for nine weeks and be in operation between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm.

The notice states: “The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.”

The temporary prohibition of driving and clearway order covers:

  • Marina Avenue, from the junction with Liverpool Road to the breakpoint in the road adjacent to George Road
  • Reaper Close, from number 61 to the junction with Payne Close
  • Cleveleys Road, in its entire length
  • Dorchester Road, from the junction with Maliston Road to the junction with Fordington Road
  • Hilton Ave, in its entire length
  • Marina Avenue, from the junction with George Road to the junction with Rozel Crescent
  • Ridley Drive, in its entire length
  • Rostherne Close, from adjacent to numbers 27 and 29 to the end of cul-de-sac adjacent to number 12
  • Sycamore Lane, from adjacent to number 105 to the junction with Dorchester Road
  • Thornton Road, from the junction with Liverpool Road to the junction with Fairhaven Close
