A 19-year-old man assaulted three emergency workers in Warrington and told one of them he ‘thought they were his mum’.
Jayden Mulvey, of Arpley Street, appeared in Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to three counts of assault against an emergency worker.
On April 21, Mulvey was taken to Warrington Hospital after feeling unwell, where he proceeded to use abusive language at an abusive worker and told them to ‘f*** off’.
Then, three days later, police were called to Mulvey’s address, where they found the 19-year-old sat outside and suspected that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Mulvey, who was going to be arrested by the officers, then proceeded to kick one of the officers in the leg.
The prosecution for the case, Mr O’Kane, told the court that, after being told to stop, Mulvey told the officers ‘I thought you were my mum’.
He was transferred to Warrington Hospital where he then stood in the reception area and shouted that he wanted to see a doctor.
Mulvey then turned around and proceeded to spit at the officers and hit them in the face.
The 19-year-old has two previous convictions for six offences, including multiple instances of assaulting other emergency workers in the past.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of using threatening or abusive words likely to cause harassment or distress.
The case was adjourned by magistrates to be sentenced at a later date.
