POLICE have named a suspect charged with drug supply offences after a vehicle was stopped on the way back from Glastonbury.

Officers from Merseyside Police investigating County Lines drug dealing acted on intelligence after identifying a vehicle travelling back from the popular music festival.

The vehicle was sighted on Monday on the M56, with officers following as it passed through Runcorn, crossed Mersey Gateway Bridge and entered Widnes.

It was stopped by patrols using pre-emptive tactics at around 9.50pm on Higher Road in Halewood.

Four people in the vehicle were detained and a quantity of class A and B drugs were seized, as well as several mobile phones.

Now, the force has confirmed that a man has been charged with drug supply offences.

Thomas Eden, of Lovel Road in Speke, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin.

The 30-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, July 31.

A 27-year-old woman from Speke, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply MDMA, has been released under investigation.

A force spokesman added that no further action will be taken with regards to a 40-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man who were also arrested.
