THE ‘inclusive and supportive’ learning environment of a school in Warrington has been recognised in an award for the second consecutive year running.

Statham Primary School and Nursery has once again been praised by Warrington Borough Council for its commitment to pupils with SEND and efforts in creating an ‘inclusive’ environment for all pupils.

The council bestowed the Committed to Inclusion award on the setting for the second year running.

And the commendation highlights the school’s exemplary practice in integrating SEND children into the mainstream educational setting.

Staff and leaders’ approaches are said to ‘encompass a comprehensive range of strategies’, from individualised education plans to specialised staff training and the use of adaptive technologies to deliver a graduated response to children’s learning.

Speaking on the recent award, school head teacher, Jane Rooney expressed her pride and gratitude upon receiving the commendation.

"This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire school community,” she said.

“We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential, regardless of their individual challenges. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that all children are valued, nurtured and supported in their educational journey."
