TWO people have been arrested by police following the execution of a drugs warrant at an address.

Officers from Cheshire Police raided a property on Whitecross Road in Whitecross at around 3.30pm yesterday, Monday.

A 39-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were arrested at the address on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug.

Officers also recovered a number of items from the property, including controlled drugs, mobile phones and other drug paraphernalia.

A police spokesman confirmed that the woman has since been released on bail, while the man remains in police custody at this time.

Inspector Lee Hillyard, of Cheshire Police in Warrington, said: “The warrant is part of our ongoing efforts to tackle the supply of illegal drugs in Warrington.

“I hope it provides reassurance to residents.

“Drugs have a hugely detrimental impact on our communities, causing widespread misery.

“As such, cutting off supplies of illegal drugs and removing dealers from our streets is of paramount importance.

“As part of our efforts to bring those responsible to justice, we also need support from the community.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information about illegal drug activity or any other criminal activity taking place in their communities to call us on 101, visit the website or anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
