Warning to drivers as work set to begin on historic Warrington village
SUMMER work on the historic cobbles in the centre of Grappenhall village begin next month.
Work will start on August 5 for four weeks while St Wilfrid's Primary School is closed for the summer holidays.
The closure of Church Lane from Broad Lane to Glebe Avenue will allow continuing works to the heritage area for reconstructing and relaying the cobbled road surface, including work to improve drainage.
Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Church Lane, A56 Chester Road, A50 Knutsford Road, Bellhouse Lane and vice versa or via Broad Lane, Grappenhall Lane, A50 Cliff Lane, A50 Knutsford Road, Bellhouse Lane and vice versa.
