A WARRINGTON school trust has celebrated its third-year anniversary with a special event.

The Beam Trust, a family of schools within Warrington, commemorated the milestone by uniting staff, governors, trustees, and guests for the celebration.

This milestone recognised the Trust's achievements, particularly the award-winning work of the Opal Play teams across all member schools.

Among the accolades, one school received a commendation from Damian Hinds, Minister for Schools, for its outstanding early years reading programme, placing them in the top five per cent nationally.

Recent Ofsted Inspection reports have included comments about the close collaboration between schools within the Trust, and that staff appreciate the additional support and opportunities that they receive from the Trust.

In fact, one lead inspector stated: “I wish all Trusts were like this.”

Since its inception in 2021, The Beam Trust has shown dedication to celebrating the individuality of its schools while fostering collaboration to achieve educational excellence.

The Beam Trust lists its core values as; collaboration, ambition, respect, innovation, and trust – all of which it states, ‘underpins its approach to education’.

A spokesperson from the Trust said: “The development of a strong school improvement team has enabled the teaching staff to develop leadership skills and share best practice across member schools and within other local authority schools.

“Member schools offer a wide variety of enrichment and extracurricular activities that develop resilience, independence, and social skills, preparing children for future stages of their education and life.”

The anniversary celebration got underway at Statham Lodge Hotel and featured a keynote speech by renowned speaker Joe Sparks.

Known for his inspirational and alternative approach to education, Joe challenged the Trust to live its values and deliver a rich educational journey for our children.

Helen Nurse, chair of governors at Statham Primary, added: "Joe had us laughing, crying, and thinking deeply about how we live by the values of our Trust.

“He inspired us to care for our children as individuals and support each other, making our schools places of wonder and joy. We left ready to take action, excited for the next chapter of The Beam Trust."
