WORK is now underway to create an ‘even better’ Warrington Ikea store.

The popular Gemini shop draws in thousands of customers every week from across the region.

But if you visit over the coming months, you will see that the regular café area is closed for refurbishment.

The Swedish retailer has confirmed that a temporary café will be open during the period of warks, albeit one with a reduced capacity.

It has apologised for any inconvenience this may cause.

An Ikea spokesman said: “We are investing in Ikea Warrington to create an even better store.

“We are currently refurbishing the restaurant, including both the back-house kitchen areas and the customer seating area.

“The reconstruction will take place over the summer and a temporary restaurant will remain open during this period.

“However, we will have a limited seating capacity and a reduced food offering, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

“We are excited to fully reopen the restaurant early autumn.”
