GULLIVER’S World has an action-packed summer of fun planned as it celebrates its 35th anniversary - including special appearances, a revamped ride and expanded accommodation.

The Warrington theme park, which opened 1989, has announced that The Wriggler has returned to the park with a brand-new look.

The ride, which is beloved by families, has been transformed and will re-join the 50 other rides and attractions at the park.

It’s not just the return of The Wriggler that guests should be excited about though, as on August 31 the park will host a Summer Sparks Spectacular with Gully and Gilly mouse.

Families can enjoy extended opening hours on the day, of 10.30am until 8.30pm, as well as a firework show allowing families to enjoy extended opening hours of 10.30am until 8.30pm and a fireworks display.

Dennis and Gnasher, as well as other characters from the Beano comic, will also be making an appearance at the park until September.

Gulliver’s World, which is in Old Hall, has expanded its accommodation too, with seven new holiday lodges now open for visitors.

“We are thrilled to unveil our new lodges, which are as a result of a boom in overnight bookings,” said Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World.

“We want to offer our guests as many exciting options as we can, and the new themed accommodation is sure to be a hit.”

Day tickets to Gulliver’s World start at £20, and booking early can help families save more money.

“During the 35 years the park has been open, we have always tried to ensure we are offering great value for money for families and, given the increased cost of living over the last year or so, we are proud to say that we have managed to keep ticket prices at Gulliver’s World the same as they were five years ago.

“With the summer holidays just around the corner, we are gearing up for an influx of visitors and want to ensure families have an incredible time while visiting the park.”
