A MAN has been taken to hospital with 'serious' injuries after falling from a bridge above the carriageway of the M62 in Warrington.
Police officers were called to the scene on the eastbound side of the carriageway at around 7.42am this morning, Sunday, following reports of concerns for welfare of a man.
The incident took place between junction 10, Croft, and junction 11, Birchwood.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "A man had fallen from a bridge above the carriageway.
"He has since been taken to hospital with serious injuries."
Traffic was held on the stretch of motorway while police and emergency services attended the scene.
It was later released and National Highways reported the scene to be clear at around 10am.
