YOUNGSTERS in Grappenhall shows off this baking skills at the annual Grappenhall Walking Day.
A bake off took place on Saturday at St Wilfrid’s Primary School in the village.
The winner of the Reception category was Isla Nugent, with Ben Cowap as the runner up with his rice krispie train.
The KS1 category was won by Noah Gibson who made a hot wheel track out of his bake, with Harrison Cowap as the runner up with his dinosaur themed tray bake.
The KS2 category was won by Isla Gibson with her meringue madness bake, a delicious and summery sponge cake filled with fresh cream, meringue and fresh fruit. The runner up was Robyn Smyth with a giant jaffa cake which tasted exactly like the real thing.
The showstopper winner was a seaside themed cake complete with cocktail umbrellas and jelly babies laid on fizzy sweets to simulate sunbathers on beach towels. The runner up in this category was Jill Jacks with her Mickey Mouse cake which consisted of lemon sponge for the face and coffee and walnut for the ears.
A spokesman said: "There were so many amazing entries and we can't wait to see what next year's event brings."
