THERE was an incredible atmosphere in the town centre last night as fans gathered to watch the Euros.
Each game of the Euros is played on a giant screen in the Old Marketplace outside Golden Square.
Last night, Thursday, the Slovakia and Romania game was screened.
Crowds of Romanian fans gathered to watch the game which ended in a draw but saw the team finish top of the group.
The Golden Square shared a video of the incredible atmosphere at Old Marketplace.
The large crowd of fans can be heard singing and chanting, accompanied by one Romanian fan playing the drums.
“What an atmosphere here for tonight’s match!” the Facebook post reads.
“I think we want Romania to win!
“Let’s make it just as loud on Sunday for the England game.”
