A WEEK today voters will be going to the polls in Warrington.

The General Election takes place on Thursday, July 4 with polls open between 7am and 10pm.

At the last election in 2019, Labour won a narrow majority in Warrington North and the Conservatives also won a tight contest in Warrington South.

Due to changes in the electoral boundaries, residents in Lymm will this time be voting in the Tatton constituency which returned a large Conservative majority at the last election.

The most recent poll by More in Common has broken down each seat across the country.

And it has predicted the share of vote for each party.

What is it predicting for Warrington?

Far from being on a knife-edge, the polls are predicting big Labour wins in Warrington.

But the Tatton result looks far more tight with the Conservatives predicted to win

In Warrington North, Charlotte Nicholls is expected to win for Labour with 58 per cent of the vote, the Conservatives second and Reform in third.

In Warrington South, Sarah Hall is predicted to win for Labour with 56.6 per cent share, again with the Conservatives second and Reform in third.

Tatton is far tighter with Esther McVey predicted to hold on for the Tories with a 39.6 per cent share to Labour's 36.9 per cent and the Liberal Democrats third.

Of course, all that could change with a week of campaigning left to go and plenty of undecided voters.
