THE dining experience at a popular country pub near Warrington has put it in the running for a food and drink award.
Offering a 'diverse' a la carte menu, the family-run Antrobus Arms also puts on monthly tasting menus and boasts a 'destination-worthy' Sunday roast.
Now the Warrington Road pub has been shortlisted as a finalist for Dining Pub of the Year in the 2024 Cheshire Life Food & Drink Awards.
Uphouse Pubs operations director Martin Barnes, whose family took over running of the pub in January 2018, was delighted with the nomination.
He said: "Since returning from Covid, the team at the family run free-house have been fine-tuning their offer and have looked to create a country pub that the local and wider area can be proud of.
"We are blessed with a fantastic team, who have taken real ownership of the success of the pub, for them to receive this recognition to make the finals is a real boost to their confidence.
"We are delighted to make the finals and hope to make that final step to win the accolade."
To make the finals shortlist, Cheshire Life asked for entries where quality of nominations was more important than quantity.
Menus at the pub are freshly prepared, while the pub holds theme evenings such as Steak Night on Thursdays and a popular £10 Fish & Chip Friday offer.
There is also a mid-week fixed price lunch menu, while the bar offers a variety of gins, cocktails, wines and Cheshire ales.
Martin added: "The front of house team delivers a consistent excellent experience, whether this be for a group of walkers in muddy boots and muddy paws, to families and couples celebrating important life events.
"You may have heard the buzz around the Antrobus Arms and the reputation they are gaining. There is no better time to head over and see for yourself."
The team from the pub are heading to Carden Park Hotel on Monday, July 22, for the awards ceremony, where the winners will be announced over a number of categories.
