PLANS to build five new homes in the green belt of Glazebury have been thrown out by the council.
Developers were looking to construct the homes on unused land on Warrington Road, close to the George and Dragon pub.
The luxury homes would have included four, five-bed detached homes and one, four bed detached house.
However Warrington Borough Council has blocked the plans.
It said part of the building would be in the green belt and the development would 'represent an encroachment into the countryside'.
It also said there were no special circumstances to allow the work.
While planners also ruled the design, scale and layout of the development would not be in keeping with the established local character to the detriment of the visual amenities of the area and the street scene.
