THERE were 211 babies born under Warrington and Halton Hospital Teaching Hospitals last month.
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust collates all the baby-related data every month detailing how many babies are born – boys and girls – whether there are any sets of twins or triplets and how babies are delivered.
There are monthly stats for the lightest baby and the heaviest baby and which is the busiest day of each month for new arrivals.
Some 211 new arrivals were born at Warrington Hospital or at home in the fifth month of 2024 – 101 boys and 110 girls – and one set of twins.
The lightest baby born in May weighed 3lb 13oz (1,754g) and the heaviest baby topped the scales at 10lb 11oz (4,855g).
The busiest day for babies being born last month was May 23 when 12 babies made an appearance.
Thirteen babies were born in the Nest – the midwifery-led unit – together with 35 Caesarean elective sections and 65 unplanned sections.
There were 107 vaginal births and 14 assisted deliveries and some 108 babies were induced.
One baby was born at home and there were eight water births and 73 per cent of babies were breast fed.
