A BUSINESS premises praised by customers could be converted into a house.

An application has been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department for Tina’s Sandwich Bar in Latchford.

Applicant Mr and Mrs Matthews are seeking permission for a change of use for the Thelwall Lane venue from shop to dwelling.

The business is listed online as being permanently closed, with the last TripAdvisor review being published in April 2022.

“The reviewer wrote: “Lovely breakfast, great value and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Lovely local business that does a good breakfast.”

Another wrote: “This is by far one of the best sandwich shops in the north west.

“A family-run business with a great selection of hot and cold sandwiches, toasties and hot and cold drinks at a great price.

“Very much value for money, tasty food and staff who greet you with a smile – what more could you ask for?”

Planning documents state that the only design change would be internal, in the form of a single door opening.

They add: “The proposal is for change of use only, with the only changes being the creation of an internal structural opening.

“The site is almost fully developed apart from a small rear yard that is clearly paved and therefore of no value.

“On that basis, we are satisfied that we comply with planning policy.”
