A PADGATE restaurant has bounced back after receiving an abysmal food hygiene rating.

Back in February, inspectors from the Food Standards Agency shared their report following a visit to Anika on Marsh House Lane.

They revealed that they had issued the restaurant with a food hygiene rating of zero and said that urgent improvement was necessary.

Inspectors said that the eatery’s management of food safety and its hygienic food handling required urgent improvement.

The cleanliness and conditions of the facilities of the building were also rated as requirement improvement.

However, Anika has now bounced back following a recent inspection.

Inspectors have now issued the restaurant with a much improved food hygiene rating of four out of five.

Its hygienic food handling was found to be good, as well as the cleanliness and condition of facilities and the building.

Its management of food safety was generally satisfactory, said inspectors.
