A NEW cycle hub in the town centre opened its doors for the first time last week and received a ‘real boost of support’ at its grand opening.

Warrington Cycle Hub, on Crown Street, hosted its grand opening on Saturday, to welcome the public and show off its features.

The hub forms part of Warrington’s sustainable transport programme, which is delivering projects aimed at transforming transport and active travel in the borough and making walking and cycling safer and more accessible.

Cheshire Cycles, which already has a successful shop in Appleton, was granted the contract by Warrington Borough Council to deliver the hub in town.

“The support on our opening day was a real boost for us, having worked so hard over the past few months getting the space ready,” said Mike Carlin, owner of Cheshire Cycles and Warrington Cycle Hub.

“The hub is now officially open and we’re looking forward to welcoming you very soon for all things cycling.”

The hub offers bikes for hire, secure cycle storage and showers, maintenance courses and servicing, guided bike rides and sells bicycles and accessories.

“We just want to have a conversation with as many people as we can, help them in any way we can with the various services we have available to us and ultimately we hope we make a difference in the town,” said Mike.

The hub is open from 9am until 5.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9am until 8pm on Thursdays and 9am until 5pm on Saturdays.
