THE popular annual Lymm Historic Transport Day makes its return this weekend.

The event, which started in 2013, will showcase a wide range of vehicles while raising money for a number of charities.

More than 500 vehicles are due to take part on land and on water – so there is a lot to look forward to this Sunday.

We have put together a guide of what to look out for here.

To ensure the event can proceed safely, a number of road closures have been arranged in Lymm.

No vehicle, except those taking part in the event and emergency services, can travel on the below streets between 10am and 11.30am on Sunday, June 23.

  • Eagle Brow, from Brookfield Road to The Cross
  • The Cross, from Eagle Brow to Lymm Bridge
  • Lymm Bridge, from The Cross to New Road
  • New Road, from Lymm Bridge to Dane Bank Road East
  • Pepper Street, from The Cross to Grove Rise
  • Rectory Lane, from Pepper Street to Higher Lane
  • Bridgewater Street, from Eagle Brow to Whitbarrow Road
  • Whitbarrow Road, from Bridgewater Street to Brookfield Road

An alternative route will be available for traffic via Brookfield Road, Dane Bank Road, Dane Bank Road East and vice versa.

Bicycles are included in the term ‘vehicle’ and must not be ridden through any of the above streets during the hours specified.

Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the above order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.

Vehicular access to premises will only be permitted under the guidance of the organisers, while pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained.
