A MINUTE’S silence took place at the full council meeting on Monday to honour a former mayor of Warrington who recently died.
Celia Jordan sadly passed away in the early hours of June 4, aged 90.
She was a former Stockton Heath borough councillor, parish councillor, mayor in 2007-08 and was awarded an MBE for services to the community in Warrington.
Celia served as a Warrington borough councillor from 1987 to 2015, was a former chair and trustee of St Rocco’s Hospice, and previously served as the president of the Liberal Democrat party in Warrington.
At the full council meeting on Monday, mayor Cllr Steve Wright said Celia was a ‘real, passionate campaigner’ for her community, and a ‘real, hard-working’ local councillor.
Shortly after, to honour Celia, those in attendance at the meeting stood in silence, for one minute.
