A SERIAL thief has been banned from entering Co-op shops in Warrington as a result of his prolific shoplifting.

Chad Feeney has been made the subject of a criminal behaviour order which also prohibits him from visiting stores with a fellow unscrupulous offender.

Cheshire Police says the 33-year-old regularly shoplifted alongside Paul Morris, who himself has been jailed for a horrendous stealing spree.

He is joined behind bars by his partner in crime Feeney for his selfish retail crime wave.

Feeney was jailed for five months at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday and ordered to adhere to a criminal behaviour order for two years upon his release.

It came after the defendant, of no fixed address, but of Warrington, admitted 18 counts of theft from a shop.

Under the criminal behaviour order, he will be banned from entering Co-op stores on Knutsford Road and Kingsway South in Latchford.

Feeney has also been banned from entering any retail premise within Warrington alongside Morris, and he must not conceal any shop items in bags or containers without paying for them.

On his release, if Feeney fails to adhere to the order, he could face a fine or be recalled to prison.

PC Andy Rowley said: “Chad Feeney is a prolific offender who, alongside his criminal partner Paul Morris, brought misery to the retailers of Warrington.

“I am proud to say that, thanks to the work of our central team, they have both been brought to justice.

“Criminal behaviour orders are just one of the ways we can use all policing tools available to us to better protect the community from those who causing alarm and distress.

“I hope that this order provides reassurance to Warrington’s retailers and residents and will also deter the behaviour of Feeney in the future.

“Feeney is under the order 2026, and if he fails to comply, he could face a hefty fine or a further five years imprisonment.”

Chief Inspector Neil Drum added: “The work from the central team in securing this sentence is excellent.

“The criminal behaviour orders in place for both Feeney and Morris give even further opportunity to take action.

“This result is testament to the great work in of our officers and their commitment to get these results and get justice for retailers.”
