A POPULAR garden festival is returning for its 29th show with new attractions for 2024.

Arley Hall will host The Garden Festival which is ‘firmly established as one of the foremost events in the horticultural calendar’ of the north west.

The event will be packed with different talks, demonstrations, and activities and garden tours will run throughout the day, lead by the estate’s head gardener Gordon Baillie.

Guests will be able to find a countryside marquee where they can learn about wood carving and dry-stone walling and more, there will also be the Cheshire Guild of Wood Turners where families can ‘have a go’ at wood turning.

New for 2024, Animal Teach will be bringing a hands-on experience to Arley, which is just down the road from Appleton Thorn.

It has more than 30 species of animal and invertebrate in its team.

A fun dog show held by Tails Animal Rescue will also take place, as well as foraging session which is also new for 2024.

There will also be a selection of food outlets, offering a choice of brownies, pies and pasties, chocolate, rum, vodka and much more.

Live music will also be taking place.

Pre-booked adult tickets cost £17 and child tickets £5. Or on the gate, an adult ticket will be £22 and a child will be £6.

There are also options to purchase a two-day ticket.
