TWO Warrington students have been selected for the prestigious England Rugby League Talent Hub.
Padgate Academy year 10 pupils, Ellie and Summer, have been chosen for the award-winning programme which lines up the next generation of rugby league talent.
The pair are among six deserving players from Warrington who have been selected for the Talent Hub.
Aiming to ‘nurture’ the next generation of Rugby League talent, the programme has a select number of places to hand out to those that prove their ability within the sport.
It focuses on increasing the number of high-quality players aged 12-16 by providing comprehensive education and training to children's coaches.
Principal of Padgate Academy, Adam McMillan said: “Ellie and Summer's selection not only highlights their exceptional skills and potential but also underscores the excellent coaching and support they have received.”
Both girls currently play for Warrington Wolves as well as their community club Warrington girls CRLFC, and their recent success in being chosen for the programme is a result of their hard work and passion for Rugby League, Mr McMillan added.
“This accomplishment brings immense pride to Padgate Academy and the local community, showcasing the bright future of local Rugby League,” The Principal said.
“The school and the community eagerly anticipate following these young athletes as they develop and succeed at higher levels of the game.
“Congratulations to Ellie and Summer on this outstanding achievement, and best of luck as they continue to pursue their Rugby League dreams.”
