A SERIES of main roads are facing closures for eight weeks for resurfacing work.

Warrington Borough Council has announced the closures for routes in and around Bewsey from next month.

A Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 temporary prohibition of driving and clearway has been published.

This covers stretches of Folly Lane, Kerfoot Street and Dallam Lane.

The particulars of the closures are as follows:

  • Folly Lane – from its junction with Bewsey Road to its junction with Kerfoot Street
  • Kerfoot Street – from its junction with Folly Lane and Dallam Lane to its junction with the A49 Winwick Road
  • Dallam Lane – from its junction with Folly Lane to its junction with Kerfoot Street
  • From Folly Lane for 25 metres – along Dalton Avenue, Bevan View, Worsley Street, Allcard Street, Wilson Street, Longshaw Street and Folly Farm Close

The closure order will be effective from Monday, July 15, for eight weeks.

Lovely Lane to Dallam Lane will be closed between 7pm and 1am, while Dallam Lane to Winwick Road will be shut from 10pm to 6am.

Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the carriageway resurfacing works.

A diversion has been drawn up that would see road users instead use Bewsey Road, Tanners Lane, Winwick Street, Pinners Brow, Winwick Road and vice versa.
