WORK to upgrade Warrington’s Marks and Spencer has now moved to one of the store’s cafés.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that a project to deliver a ‘top-to-bottom transformation’ of the Gemini Retail Park shop had begun.

As part of this, the first-floor café is now closed to shoppers as teams deliver a ‘gorgeous new look’.

For customers wanting a bite to eat and a drink while browsing, the ground-floor café is still open for business.

A spokesman for the store said: “This is not just any café … your all-new M&S Café is coming soon.

“With a brand-new look, mouth-watering new dishes on the menu and master baristas crafting every cup of coffee just the way you like it, it will be worth the wait.

“Our first-floor café is now temporarily closed so that we can deliver our gorgeous new-look.

“You can still find all of your tasty M&S Café favourites in our ground floor café, now with increased seating and additional colleagues, on hand and ready to help.”

On other work taking place in the store, the spokesman previously said: “Work has officially begun to revamp M&S Gemini into a better, fresher new store.

“We will be undergoing a top-to-bottom transformation designed with customers and local families at its heart.

“Making shopping inspirational and convenient, there will be lots of new and exciting in-store features.

“A big thank you to all of our colleagues and contractors who will be working tirelessly across the next few months to bring our new store to life.

“We would also like to thank our customers for their patience while we undergo our transformation.”
