WARRINGTON was pretty muddy last weekend as Cancer Research UK Race for Life's fundraising events arrived in the town.
Victoria Park in Latchford hosted the fun in the sun with participants completing 3km, 5km or 10km races or the obstacle-packed Pretty Muddy throughout the day yesterday, Sunday.
Thousands of fundraisers descended on the town centre venue hoping to collect vital money for the charity.
Since it began in 1994, Race for Life has helped fund 30 years of cancer research in the UK, with Cancer Research UK raising millions of pounds every year.
Jemma Humphreys, Cancer Research UK’s spokesperson for Warrington, said: “Sadly nearly one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime but Race for Life has the power not only to transform lives, but to save them.
“No matter how cancer affects us, life is worth racing for.
“Cancer Research UK Race for Life is a chance to feel the power of moving together with fellow Race for Lifers and have fun with it.”
Last year Race for Life raised £33 million to help continue cancer research work across the country, which goes towards developing radiotherapy and benefits more than 130,000 people with cancer every year.
Andy Curran, chief executive of Standard Life, said: “We are incredibly proud to continue as headline sponsor for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, with the opportunity to encourage participation across the country.
“By working to raise funds for life-saving research, we can move towards a future where people live longer and healthier lives, free from the fear of cancer.”
Here are a few of your photos from this year's fundraising events at Victoria Park.

Tell us a bit about why you took part in the race. Who were you racing for? How much money have you raised for Cancer Research UK?I've been taking part in race for life for 10 years now. It started off with racing in my grandma's memory back in 2014, but it feels like every year the list has grown longer and longer. Perhaps next year I will volunteer instead of participating.
