A FIRE investigation has been launched following a fire in the roof space of a block of flats in Warrington.

Just after 1.55pm this afternoon, Sunday, crews were called to Bexhill Avenue where occupants were later evacuated.

Three fire engines from Warrington, Lymm, and Penketh attended as well as an aerial ladder platform from Lymm.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters took two hoes reel jets into the building and ensured all occupiers were counted for.
