A NEW cycle hub that aims to encourage people to use bicycles and improve their wellbeing and the environment will host its grand opening this weekend.
The Warrington Cycle Hub, which forms part of Warrington’s sustainable transport programme, will open its doors on Crown Street tomorrow morning, Saturday.
Cheshire Cycles, which already has a shop in Appleton, was chosen by Warrington Borough Council to deliver the hub, which will offer support in all things cycling for people across all abilities.
“We are so excited to open the Warrington Cycle Hub and are grateful to Warrington Borough Council for selecting us to receive the funding to support this project,” said Mike Carlin, owner of Cheshire Cycles and Warrington Cycle Hub.
“This service will help all forms of people across all forms of cycling. We can’t wait to share the knowledge and experience the team have through the hub.
“We just want to have a conversation with as many people as we can, help them in any way we can with the various services we have available to us and ultimately we hope we make a difference in the town.”
The hub will offer services such as maintenance, bike hire and handling sessions for those looking for a little extra support to get into cycling.
The grand opening tomorrow will start at 10am and include a walk around the shop to show visitors the facilities as well as hand out giveaways and prizes.
“It’s great news that the brand-new Warrington Cycle Hub will soon be opening its doors in our town centre,” said David Boyer, director of transport and environment at Warrington Borough Council.
“It will be a fantastic asset, offering support and guidance for those who want to try cycling, along with all the essential services local cyclists need under one roof – from maintenance and repairs to bike hire and storage.”
