A FLASH mob yoga workout will take over Time Square next week at the sun comes up on the longest day of the year.

Hotpod Yoga Warrington is hosting an early morning yoga session – at 6am - in the town centre to celebrate the light, energy and power of the sun on the summer solstice.

Stuart Lawton, from Hotpod Yoga Warrington, said: “The summer solstice is a time when many cultures celebrate renewal, growth and the potential for new beginnings.

“Join us in our celebration, where we’ll be combining physical exercise and community connection, in the fabulous fresh air.

“We’d like to see as many people there as possible.”

The event on Thursday, June 20 is free and will include 108 sun salutations throughout the session.

Stuart said: “108 is considered a significant sacred number in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.

“It’s also significant in astronomy and mathematics as the distance between the Earth and the sun is about 108 times the sun’s diameter and the diameter of the sun is about 108 times the diameter of Earth.
“These elements make performing 108 sun salutations on the summer solstice a meaningful and powerful practice, combining physical exercise, spiritual symbolism and communal celebration.”
