A 73-year-old man was found at his home in a state of ‘decomposition’ on his sofa, Cheshire Coroner’s Court heard on Wednesday.
David Whittaker, from Great Sankey, was found on the sofa by Police officers and later identified.
The court heard that Mr Whittaker, who died on May 24, was in a ‘state of decomposition’ when his body was found.
An inquest into Mr Whittaker’s death was formally opened, due to the fact that his cause of death was unascertained.
Senior Coroner Jaqueline Devonish told the court that the inquest into Mr Whittaker’s death would be heard on September 27.
